Biography

My name is Gargi Chauhan. I have completed M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from Gwalior Government Hospital (RCI, India recognized). I am currently working as an Assistant Professor & Licensed Clinical psychologist at Mahatma GandhiMedical College & Hospital , Jaipur. I have had a very clear and straightforward vision of becoming a clinical psychologist since the beginning of my career. I have been practicing in this field for about 4 years now and have seen variety of cases from mild to severe mental difficulties and conditions. My job has a precise set of functions which, along with highly specialized training in the diagnosis and psychological treatment of mental, behavioural and emotional illnesses, help individuals uplift and foster positive personality changes and personal growth. From my experience in the field I have a good understanding of what a person goes through when facing mental health issues and have developed the specific skills to manage their problems within the ethical framework of psychotherapy. I would be a fair, respectful, clear communicator and I will be able to handle potentially difficult situations with understanding, empathy and unconditional positive regard. It's of utmost important for a therapist to build a sense of sensitivity to individual problems in terms of his or her cultural diversity and understanding how these factors affect who they are and how they think. If we have the skills and knowledge to help people come out of their adversities then why not make this world a much more positive and harmonious place.
